Support the Loudoun County Chapter of the “Beat the Odds®”
Program!
The Loudoun County Bar Association proudly supports the Beat
the Odds® program for Loudoun County youth, a scholarship
program designed to reward the achievement and success of
at-risk youth in the community. Beat the Odds® scholarships
are awarded to youth who have overcome significant life
obstacles by rising above such issues as poverty, abuse, family
breakup or substance addictions. The financial awards are given
to assist deserving students in pursuing their goals for either
college education or vocational training.
Loudoun’s program identifies and awards scholarships to youth
who have received services from local agencies such as Juvenile
Court Services, Social Services, Loudoun County Department of
Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse. The
Loudoun Beat The Odds® committee works with local agencies to
select and honor students who demonstrate academic excellence
and have the strength and determination to “beat the odds.”
The Beat the Odds® Committee is comprised of individuals
drawn from several agencies to include: the Loudoun County
Sheriff’s Office, the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, the
Office of the Public Defender, Loudoun County MH/MR/SA, the
Juvenile Court Services Unit and the Department of Family
Services.
The Beat the Odds® Committee is currently soliciting tax
deductible donations of funds, goods, or services to support
this new program. If you or your organization would like to
donate to or sponsor this program or next year's golf
tournament, please print and use the linked donation form, or
feel free to contact Matt Snow at 703-779-2000 or
snow@btoloudoun.org. Any donations by check should be made
payable to the "Loudoun Bar Foundation" with "Beat
the Odds" in the notation.
